Who offers a humanist wedding in Lithuania
Humanist weddings in Lithuania are offered by the organization Laimingas Žmogus (meaning Happy Human), working with a brand „Taip“ kitaip for the wedding ceremonies.

Languages offered:
Laimingas Žmogus offers wedding ceremonies in Lithuanian, English, Italian, German, Finnish, Norwegian, Japanese, Russian and Polish, depending on the availability of celebrants.

How to book a humanist wedding in Lithuania:

Please choose a service package and fill in the registration form. Then the organization will reach out to you with the contract and service details.

Alternatively, write an e-mail or call +37067637841, and explain what you seek (such as time and location of the ceremony, languages and other possible preferences and wishes etc.). This should be done preferably around 6 months before the wedding. An additional fee is applied if less than 5 weeks are left until the wedding.

Laimingas Žmogus will thereafter send you a contract, specifying the content of the ceremony and how to pay the first rate of the ceremony fee.

Three months before the ceremony, you will have a meeting with the celebrant and plan further details. This process will go on until all details are planned and everyone agrees.

After the ceremony, you will have to pay the second rate of the fee, and will be offered to share your experience and give feedback.

Laimingas Žmogus is not authorized to perform legally binding weddings in Lithuania. Neither do they require that you are legally married in Lithuania or elsewhere before they can offer you a humanist wedding ceremony. In other words: The humanist wedding ceremony you get in Lithuania is purely symbolic.

A marriage in Lithuania is registered at civil registry offices only. Symbolic ceremonies like humanist weddings can happen both before or after the official registration. It is also possible to invite the official registration officer to a wanted location, thus combining the legal wedding with the humanist wedding ceremony. The civil registry offices are divided between municipalities and only cover their own area. Their working times are limited, so couples usually choose to register separately.

If you want to book a civil, legally binding wedding in Lithuania in addition to the symbolic humanist ceremony, click here for instructions.

If you are legally wed in another country, you can of course bring that certificate to the Laimingas Žmogus humanist wedding in Lithuania, but this is not a requirement.

Lithuanian marriage law is sadly not gender neutral. Laimingas Žmogus is however happy to perform symbolic humanist weddings to everyone who wants one, regardless of gender.
