How to book a humanist wedding in Malta:
After initial contact through email, Humanists Malta will send some detailed info to the couple. Afterwards, you can choose a celebrant (see bottom of this list) and check their availability. 

Once you have decided to book a celebrant, you will get an invoice for the full price, on which you can pay 50% as deposit. ). 

Once deposit is received, you will receive a meeting date and time and a questionnaire to fill in. 

The meeting between the couple and celebrant is then held, the ceremony is written, and edits are made according to needs of the couple. Once the couple are satisfied, the ceremony is confirmed and performed at the agreed date. 

Do we get to choose the humanist wedding celebrant ourselves?
Yes. Humanists Malta do offer such a list and allow for direct contact with individual celebrants. Check the celebrant list (at the bottom of the page) and more instructions here

Price:
The cost is EUR 350 for ceremonies held in Malta (main island), and EUR 450 for ceremonies held on the islands of Gozo or Comino. All Humanists Malta celebrants charge the same price. If you become a member of Humanists Malta before booking the ceremony, you will get a 25% discount. 

This price is all inclusive and includes the first meeting between couple and celebrant, the writing of the ceremony, with as many edits as are needed, the delivery of the ceremony on the wedding day, and celebrant transport costs to and from the wedding.

Humanists Malta prefers that you pay the full amount by the date of the ceremony.

Humanists Malta are not, as an organization, authorized to perform legally binding weddings in Malta. However, their celebrants are authorized as individuals to perform civil legally binding weddings. Malta´s marriage law is gender neutral

Usually, when someone wants a legally binding wedding, a bespoke ceremony is written for the couple which includes the civil ceremony legalities inside. 

This means that you can, in practice, get a humanist legally binding wedding in Malta.

Humanists Malta also offers symbolic weddings without any legal framework, for example if you are legally married elsewhere or if you don’t want to legally formalize your relationship.
